Back on the Board of Directors – Robert Holzer knows the EASY-CERT group from many perspectives

Robert Holzer is no stranger to the EASY-CERT group. He previously served on the Board of Directors from 2018 to 2023. In June 2026, he was re-elected to the Board, bringing with him not only his professional experience but also an in-depth understandig of how the group has evolved over the years.

His roots are in agriculture. Robert Holzer is an agricultural engineer, organic farmer and entrepreneur. The connection between agriculture, organic production and entrepreneurial thinking has been a constant throughout his career.

One question that particularly interests him is how high-quality agricultural products can be put to the best possible use.

As an entrepreneur, he is involved, among other things, in processing food products that cannot be sold through conventional sales channels due to their size, shape or other quality requirements.

Organic farming from different perspectives
Robert Holzer knows the organic sector not only as a farmer and entrepreneur. For many years, he was also actively involved in various organisations within the Austrian organic sector. Among other roles, he acted as the owners' representative at Austria Bio Garantie and served as a board member of Bio Austria Niederösterreich und Wien.

This has given him insight into many of the issues that are also relevant to the EASY-CERT group, from agricultural production and processing to marketing, inspection and certification.

He is also very familiar with the EASY-CERT group itself. Several factors influenced his decision to return to the Board of Directors. He particularly values the collaboration between employees, management teams and boards of directors. Having already become familiar with many of these issues during his previous term, he is confident that he can once again make a valuable contribution. The group's international focus is another aspect that appeals to him.

Focusing on growth and stability
Since he left the Board of Directors in 2023, the wider environment has continued to change. Global crises and rising costs are affecting numerous sectors, including agriculture and the food industry. Robert Holzer believes that the EASY-CERT group is well positioned to respond to these developments. At the same time, he expects ongoing digitalisation, particularly the use of artificial intelligence, to bring further changes.

During his new term, he aims above all to support the group's strategic development. For him, this includes identifying areas with growth potential at an early stage and helping to shape their development. The stability of the group is equally important to him. He sees particular potential in making even better use of synergies between the various business areas and internal departments.

Organic farming: challenges and new opportunities
As an organic farmer and entrepreneur, Robert Holzer experiences first-hand the challenges facing the agricultural and food sectors. Climate change is having an impact at various levels and is creating new challenges for organic farming. At the same time, consumer purchasing behaviour is changing and cost pressures are increasing.

Despite these challenges, Robert Holzer also sees opportunities. New programmes and developments could open up additional opportunities for the organic sector and provide fresh momentum for further growth.

And when organic farming and strategy are not the focus?
Robert Holzer enjoys travelling and keeping active. He travels frequently with his wife, and his porting hobbies include cycling, golf and skiing. Another passion of his is wine. Together with friends, he enjoys exploring the world of wine and attending tastings. He also regularly takes courses to deepen his knowledge.
